Slender
The game was created by Mark J. Hadley, known on YouTube as AgentParsec.
Slender begins with the player controlling an unidentified female character. The player views the game in first-person through a handheld camera that the woman is holding. The player is equipped with a flashlight, and a battery that needs to be conserved. The player can jog for a long time before running out of stamina (signaled by heavy breathing and slowing down to normal speed). If the player gets shocked by the Slender Man, she can sprint for about 10 seconds which decreases stamina rapidly. The sound in the beginning of the game suggests that the unidentified female character has jumped over the fence to get in to the playable area.
Slender became viral after PewDiePie uploaded a viral video featuring his gameplay and commentary over the game on July 1, 2012; as of July 24, 2012, the video has been viewed 2.1 million times. The official website crashed after a flood of people tried to download the game, leading to subsequent mirror downloads on Reddit and later MediaFire.
