Maroon 5 has confirmed that the album's lead single is called "Payphone" and it features rapper Wiz Khalifa. The song was described as "a disco-flavored dance-floor filler with a slick verse from Khalifa". The song was released for purchase on iTunes on April 16, 2012, following the band's performance of the song on The Voice.
On the Billboard Hot 100, the song debuted at number three, with sales of 493,000 copies. It became the best debut sales week for a digital song by a group and also the eighth-best sales week overall.
The song "One More Night" was released on June 19, 2012 as the album's second single. The song was written by Levine, Shellback, Max Martin and Savan Kotecha.
