Happy 80th Birthday LEGO!

As The LEGO Group celebrates its 80th Birthday, we take a look back at its history with this short animated film.
Lego (trademarked in capitals as LEGO) is a popular line of construction toysmanufactured by The Lego Group, a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The company's flagship product, Lego, consists of colorful interlocking plastic bricks and an accompanying array of gears, minifigures and various other parts. Lego bricks can be assembled and connected in many ways, to construct such objects as vehicles, buildings, and even working robots. Anything constructed can then be taken apart again, and the pieces used to make other objects. Lego began manufacturing interlocking toy bricks in 1949, since which a global Lego subculture has developed, supporting movies, games, competitions, and five themed amusement parks.

Scientology

Stars such as John Travolta and Tom Cruise say that Scientology has changed their lives, but critics charge fraud, that the Church of Scientology is nothing but a scam to take millions from unsuspecting believers.

On Feb. 14, 1992, ABC News aired what Scientology leader David Miscavige said was his first-ever interview.

After decades of seeing church officials arrested and after hundreds of lawsuits with critics and defectors, the Scientology business is now booming - led by a 52-year-old high-school dropout who seized control of the church years ago and charted an aggressive campaign to make Scientology a household world.

The Dark Knight Rises: Aurora shooting

On July 20, 2012, police arrested an unresisting Holmes next to his car behind the Century 16 theater, moments after the 2012 Aurora shooting, in which a heavily armed individual set off several gas or smoke canisters and then opened fire on the theater audience, killing 12 and wounding 58. The responding officers recovered several guns from inside the car and the theater. Holmes is now the chief suspect.
According to two federal authorities, Holmes had dyed his hair red and called himself The Joker. Once apprehended, Holmes told the police that he had booby-trapped his apartment with explosive devices before heading to the theater. Police later confirmed the presence of explosives in the apartment.
